SPL stands for Student Pilot Licence. It is the first step towards achieving your dream of obtaining Commercial or Private Pilot Licence! If you are interested in flying aircraft, you must apply for (and possess) an SPL. It is a prerequisite for flying and flying training. It is after obtaining an SPL that candidates can move forward to advanced Licences like the PPL, CPL and ATPL.
The Minimum educational qualification for admission to the Student Pilot Licence Course should be pass in 10th Std of a recognized Board or its equivalent examination. Knowledge of spoken English required.
Hobby Flyers should select their aircraft either Cessna 152A (OR) 172R and get the Private Pilot Licence from DGCA, Government of India.
3-4 Months tailor made to the student's availability either vacation (or) on holidays.
Satisfactory Medical Examination by DGCA approved Medical Officer is essential before a candidate is admitted to the Madras Flying Club. The list of approved Medical Examiners is available with the Club.
Students Pilot should undergo Ground Classes for the following subjects.
5 Hrs of Flying Air Experience will be given to the students either in Cessna 152A (OR) Cessna 172R aircraft.
All/any payments shall be made by Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- in favour of "MADRAS FLYING CLUB " payable at "Chennai".
All applicants for pilot training are informed that Madras Flying Club has not authorised consultant or representative to collect payments on its behalf.
The Organisation will guide trainees in finding suitable accommodation as per their budget for Boys and Girls.
